Another popular choice of things to do in Ft. Lauderdale, The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale stands apart from similar museums by focusing largely on a more contemporary collection from the 20th century to today. With over 6,200 pieces in this dynamic collection, art buffs have a day of amazement ahead of them.
Primary exhibits at The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale include an extensive collection of American realist painter William Glackens. Over 500 of his works are held in a special wing exhibit entitled "The Spectacle of Life". A popular collection of Cuban and Latin American art draws large South Floridian crowds, as does a collection of ceramic crafts by Pablo Picasso. The museum also hosts temporary exhibits throughout the year, so there's always something new to see.
The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale maintains hours that vary by season and event but generally run from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily.

Fishing is to Florida what skiing is to Colorado, and there's no better place for the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame & Museum than Dania Beach, FL less than ten miles from our Fort Lauderdale luxury hotel.
The museum opens with Journeys, a fun cinematic adventure that gets you in the mood for the exciting sights, sounds, and feels of world-class game and recreational fishing. Next you'll pass through several halls of World Records exhibits, including an enormous display of World Record sport fish mounted in life size, right on the ceiling. You'll soon move on to an engrossing history exhibit detailing the full spectrum of fishing technology from antique to today's state-of-the-art tackles.
To ensure that there's always a new experience waiting for return guests, there is a changing gallery that can feature anything from international art to authentic historical artifacts, all within the subject of fishing, of course. On the back docks, you can board and examine five boats going as far back as 1933 and also visit a living recreation of the Florida wetlands. It's a must for Florida-bound game fishers or anyone who enjoys unusual museum attractions.
The IGFA Hall of Fame & Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Parking is free.
